Do Materials Matter?
Materials are useful in learning and because they are help a teacher teach better and a student to learn better and faster. Materials are used by teachers to show and display things easier to students for the benefit of the students to learn things easier. A teacher, a chalk board, and chalk are examples of materials making learning and teaching for both teachers and students easier. Without proper materials in school learning is made harder and more difficult. As a result of this students no longer wish to learn and give up on learning because of being discouraged by such a large obstacle.
Materials do not only pertain t class rooms they also pertain to exercise equipment, library books, and etc. Imagine recess with no fun equipment no ball, jump rope, no chalk, nothing. It is known that learning is best done while having fun so without these equipment at school gyms how can you learn. In many failing schools children do not have these materials, there best way of having fun is by there imagination and ingenuity. This is problematic because for those who wish to get an athletics scholarship out of such places they can not. The items needed to make it happen are not there so the boy who want to play pro football will never achieve this if there is never a football to play with.
Materials help bridge a gap between a teacher and parent. The an important relationship for a student is that of the teacher and the parent. The parent is a key is a key factor in the students learning future. When the parent and the teacher work together they make learning better for the student and that makes it easier for the student to stay on track. Materials like letters sent between the the student and teacher, phone calls home, and e-mails sent to one another. Such materials are important for the students educational futur and in making sure that the child does not fall through the gaps.
